Privacy policy
Draft text — please replace with your reviewed legal wording before launch.
This policy explains how AccessIQ processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, company and password (stored securely, never readable by us).
- Free check requests: name, email, optional company, website address and your consent.
- Web addresses you ask us to check and the results of those checks.
- A one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, used only to apply request limits.
Why we collect it
- To run accessibility checks and show or email you the results.
- To send the confirmation email and results you asked for, and to follow up about a full audit if you requested a free check.
- To prevent abuse of the service.
Web addresses are sent to Google PageSpeed Insights, which loads the page and runs the checks.
How long we keep it
- Free check leads: up to 24 months after your last contact with us, then deleted.
- Account data and scan history: while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days after you close it.
- Hashed IP addresses: kept with the request they belong to.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
